Art Classes – Modest Fly offers people of all ages the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of art, including drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, and some sculpture. These fundamental art classes are taught throughout the week and we provide a free introductory class for those who would like to try it before signing up. These classes are organized by age group for up to two sessions per week from Monday to Friday as follows:

Adults begin at 12PM. Ages 6-8 begin at 2PM. Ages 8-12 begin at 3:30PM. Ages 6-8 begin at 5PM.

On Saturday, we provide classes on a modified schedule so that Ages 4-6 begin at 10AM. Ages 6-8 begin at 11:30AM. Ages 8-12 begin at 1PM. Adults begin at 2:30PM.

Modest Fly Fine Art Program – Serves elementary school students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The afterschool program works with teachers and administrators to deliver age appropriate instruction drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, and sculpture in conformity with State of California arts educational standards.

The Journal – The Journal is the quarterly newsletter published by Modest Fly Art Studio Gallery. It provides readers with information on the value of arts education, scholarships for children and youth, and topics related to the use of art in promoting mental and physical healing.

Curriculum – In all our work, we feel most proud of the curriculum. It is based in state standards, but adapted to meet the student’s developmental needs, no matter their skill level. Each student goes through a set of assigned projects to learn or enhance their understanding of the basics and fundamentals with a Modest Fly trained instructor. When fundamental standards are achieved, we send them off to create their own projects of choice.
