Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, FILMMAKERS COLLABORATIVE INC will continue to serve as a hub propelling independent filmmakers to get their films made and distributed. Through our filmmaker incubator program, community screening series, artistic development workshops, events, and support services, we help filmmakers gain the resources and tools they need to navigate the ever-changing independent film industry. In addition to production, we also help with distribution strategies and opportunities, enabling their films to reach a diversity of audiences and achieve impact.

Organization Summary

We are a hub to help indie filmmakers get their films made. Our programs and services include:

– FILMMAKER SERVICES
We support filmmakers’ projects through fiscal sponsorship, sliding scale consulting, mixer events, discounted professional services, a screening room, and other resources.

-ARTIST DEVELOPMENT
We help filmmakers develop their filmmaking skills and strategies through workshops, education, a drop-in program, and an incubator program.

– FILM PRODUCTION
We produce our own original films, films for nonprofits, and consult in the distribution and outreach of films made by our members.

– COMMUNITY BUILDING
Once filmmakers become members of our collaborative, they join a supportive peer community that fosters empowerment and encouragement on their filmmaking journeys.
