With support from the California Arts Council, Gallery Route One (GRO) will hire its
first Development and Communications Manager, an essential milestone in
advancing our 43-year mission and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
Serving rural West Marin, a 550-square-mile area of Marin County, GRO is the
region’s only community-based visual arts gallery dedicated to presenting emerging
and underrepresented Bay Area artists and offering inclusive, participatory programs
in these isolated, under-resourced communities. This position will build
indispensable development capacity by strengthening fundraising systems,
deepening community outreach and donor engagement, and expanding institutional
support. As a creative lifeline serving people of all ages and abilities, with a focus on
BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, this investment will increase GRO’s ability to
deliver culturally relevant exhibitions, artist support, and ongoing arts education that
fosters representation, access, and meaningful cultural exchange.
