The City of Westminster is requesting CAC Arts and Youth Funding to develop a collaborative Utility Signal Box Art Program in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE). The program will connect high school students from districts across the City to design and paint 23 traffic signal cabinets/utility boxes throughout Westminster. Students will submit original designs for selection and, once selected, will participate in painting the utility boxes, which will then be covered in a protective laminate. Participating students will receive stipends for their work, while OCDE coordinators will assist in program management alongside the City. The program will provide youth with opportunities to showcase their art, participate in the public art process from design through implementation, beautify their community, and reduce visual blight throughout Westminster.
The City of Westminster provides a variety of municipal services to our residents, including community development, community services, fiscal management, police, and public works.
