Radio Bilingüe (RB) delivers a 24/7 schedule of music, cultural content, and community-rooted journalism and educational programming that connects underserved audiences throughout California to artistic expression and trusted information across broadcast, digital platforms, and social media. Flagship programs include Línea Abierta, the only national Spanish-language news call-in show in U.S. public media; Edición Semanaria, a weekly news magazine; Comunidad Alerta, a live public affairs forum; and La Hora Mixteca, which sustains Indigenous language, music, and community dialogue. Youth-centered programs such as Rockin’ da House and Alza tu Voz create space for young people to engage in broadcast production on topics they choose.

RB’s music programming spans mariachi, norteño, Tejano, son jarocho, rock en español, salsa, Latin jazz, and global sounds, alongside artist interviews and cultural features that highlight both emerging and established voices. RB programming has been archived by the Library of Congress and has documented artists across Latino, Indigenous, Hmong, Asian, and African-rooted communities. Community Calendar segments connect listeners with local performances, exhibitions, and cultural events. Programs have featured legendary international artists through the decades, such as Juan Felipe Herrera, Lydia Mendoza, Valerio Longoria, Los Alacranes Mojados, Nati Cano, Lila Downs, Flaco Jiménez, Viola Canales, Sandra Cisneros, and Lalo Guerrero.
RB supports arts participation through live events, artist collaborations, and youth-centered training based in its Salinas studio. Youth produce original audio content, including interviews, spoken word, and short-form storytelling and radio-theater pieces aired throughout regular programming. Public service messaging is integrated throughout programming, delivering timely information on health, safety, and civic engagement in formats that are culturally resonant and accessible.

Produced from Fresno and Salinas and distributed across RB’s network of 30 owned stations and 75 national affiliates, as well as partner outlets in Mexico, RB’s programming extends the reach of artists across regions and borders.
