With support from the California Arts Council, the SANTA CLARITA VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY will continue its forward progress by opening new museum spaces, caring for our collection, growing our outreach efforts and enhancing our programming for elementary grade students. Managing ongoing restoration projects, we will enhance visitor experiences; expand exhibit space in our railroad museum and initiate the design and buildout of a new museum space on our campus that includes both static and rotating exhibits as well as targeted storytelling of previously unexplored community experiences. We will be able to build partnerships and attract more supporters and donations by enhancing our volunteer program as well as attracting filming and event production into our area to provide additional revenue. We look forward to partnering with CAC and working on our continued growth and success.
The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society is the region’s most trusted historical resource. The Society is the honest chronicler of its stories, protector of its cultural materials, and advocate for local landmarks. The Society’s Santa Clarita History Center bridges generations and inspires diverse populations through accessible and inclusive exhibitions and activities. The Society employs best practices in collections care and preservation to ensure that the rich historical legacy of our people will be available to current and future generations. Within the decade, the Society’s outreach programs in schools, tours of historic sites, digitized archive, and electronic communications will engage evolving audiences as the Santa Clarita History Center becomes the springboard for historic tourism throughout the region.
