The Anna H. Wang Concert Series is requesting $5,000 from the California Arts Council to support the delivery of Cliburn in the Classroom: Rhythms and Roots at La Sierra University, January 27–29, 2027. The total program budget for Cliburn in the Classroom is $15,000, covering artist fees, bilingual teaching-artist compensation, travel, and administrative costs associated with nine free performances for approximately 2,000 Riverside Unified School District elementary students.

CAC funds will be applied directly to artist and teaching-artist fees — the core cost that makes professional-level performance possible for students who could not otherwise access it. All nine performances are offered at no cost to students, families, or schools. Additional support from private foundations and individual donors will fund the remaining program costs. No portion of this grant will support administrative overhead unrelated to program delivery.
