With support from the California Arts Council, INSPIRESD will deliver structured, year round arts programming for youth ages 6-18 and young adult ambassadors ages 18-24 in San Diego County, with a focus on Southeast San Diego, Valencia Park, Skyline, and surrounding communities. Funds will support facilitator guided music, digital media, and performance training, including songwriting, recording, and content creation. Participants will develop original work and present through community performances and school based engagements. Programming will be delivered in accessible community settings, ensuring consistent participation without financial barriers. This project will serve approximately 120-150 youth annually and reach over 500 community members through public presentations, expanding access to arts participation and culturally relevant creative expression.
Inspire SD delivers structured, year-round arts programming through a multi phase model that includes outreach, skill development, creative production, and public presentation. Core programs focus on music, digital media, and performance arts, with instruction provided by teaching artists and program facilitators.
Youth participants engage in music development activities such as songwriting, vocal coaching, and studio recording, while also receiving training in digital media and cultural storytelling, including video production and content creation. These experiences build both creative and technical skills through interactive learning.
Participants have opportunities to present their work through community performances, showcases, and school-based engagements. These presentations take place in community settings, providing real world experience and audience interaction.
Inspire SD also introduces elements of creative entrepreneurship, including branding, distribution, and audience development, connecting artistic practice to opportunities within the creative economy.
All programming is delivered in accessible, community environments, ensuring consistent participation without financial barriers.
