With support from the California Arts Council, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass will implement the Arts in Action program, an innovative initiative designed for 100 teens in Banning and Beaumont, Riverside, CA. Grant funds will support our talented staff artists in delivering a ten-month program that includes media, performing, and visual arts, as well as enriching field trips to local art venues.
Our program offers an engaging curriculum for underserved teens, primarily from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, providing them with opportunities to explore the magical world of art, filling a crucial gap in access to the arts. Participants will create their own art in a supportive environment that emphasizes youth voice and cultural relevance, showcasing their talents through performances and art exhibits within the community.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass (BGCSGP) has been serving youth for over 20 years and is the only youth development agency in our area. Our comprehensive after-school and out-of-school time programs serve over 2,300 youth ages 5 to 18 annually. We provide research-based, outcome-driven programs in education, wellness, character and leadership, art, sports, and recreation at 14 Club locations in Cabazon, Banning, Beaumont, and Yucaipa in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. A significant majority of our youth come from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, so to ensure all youth can participate, we provide our services at little or no cost.
