With support from the California Arts Council, Civic Youth Orchestra will implement Healing Through Harmony: Youth Orchestra as a Pathway to Wellness and Belonging, a community centered initiative that uses ensemble music to support healing, stability, and personal growth for underserved youth across North San Diego County. CAC funds will support professional teaching artists, trauma informed training, and accessible program delivery that integrates music instruction with social emotional learning and creative expression.

Youth participants will engage in consistent rehearsals, small group sessions, and community performances that foster connection, confidence, and belonging. Prioritizing low income and BIPOC youth, this project creates safe, culturally responsive spaces where young people can express themselves, build resilience, and develop pathways to continued participation in the arts and their communities.
