With support from the California Arts Council, IINYO COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS (ICA) will continue providing accessible, community-centered arts programming in one of California’s most rural and geographically isolated regions. ICA serves Inyo County through arts education programs for local students, the 34th annual Millpond Music Festival, gallery/artist market exhibitions showcasing regional artists, workshops, and ongoing outreach through print, social media, and a monthly e-newsletter reaching more than 1,500 subscribers.
Operating with a staff of only three (one full-time employee), ICA prioritizes free and low-cost programming to ensure equitable access to the arts for underserved rural communities. California Arts Council funding is essential to sustaining cultural opportunities for artists, students, families, and visitors throughout the region. Without continued support, access to free/affordable arts programming and cultural experiences in Inyo County would be significantly reduced.
