Location: Various Elementary Schools in San Diego County (Escondido & Coastal areas)
Job Type: Part-time | 10–25 hrs/week
Pay: $30 – $40/hour, based on experience
Start Date: August or September 2025

EcoArts Kids brings nature-inspired, eco-conscious art programs to local elementary schools. Our mission is to nurture every child’s creative confidence and connection to nature through hands-on art experiences. We partner with environmental organizations to blend visual art and sustainability in joyful, after-school learning.

🎯 About the Role
We are seeking experienced educators with a passion for the Earth, teaching, and creativity. As a Lead Art Teacher, you will independently manage after-school classes with up to 25 students, guiding students through nature-based art lessons and collaborating with a Teaching Assistant.

🕓 How the Program Works

  • Classes run afternoons (2:00–4:30pm), 1–2 days/week per school
  • Classes last 1–2 hours, plus paid prep and cleanup time
  • Each school runs for 8–10 weeks per session
  • Teachers work at 1–4 schools per session
  • You must transport your own art bin (provided) to sites
  • Commitment to the full 8–10 week term is required

 

  • ✅Qualifications
    3+ years classroom or group teaching experience or equivalent
  • Confident managing class sizes of 15–25 independently
  • Skilled in visual art instruction (drawing, painting, mixed media)
  • Warm, organized, and comfortable engaging with families
  • Passion for nature, creativity, and sustainability
  • 📌 Requirements
    Smartphone for clock-in/out & communication
  • Reliable transportation
  • Live Scan fingerprint/background clearance (we assist)
  • Completion of Mandated Reporter and Abuse Prevention Training (provided)
