Echelon at Television Center Public Art RFQ

Description

A new creative workspace located in the heart of Hollywood and set in the 1920’s Art Deco splendor of the original Technicolor building provides 200,000 RSF of creative workspace, production studios, edit suites, writer’s rooms, and a production stage. Working with the City of Los Angeles, the project is committed to providing artwork across the project to fulfill a total budget of $850,000. This budget will include the commission of four pieces of artwork as well as fabrication, engineering, installation, consulting and conservation and maintenance report costs. Artwork for Echelon Studios at Television City presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the artistic vibrancy of Hollywood. Each piece will be curated to create a distinct experience, while collectively, the art installations will serve as placemaking devices that enhance the campus and integrate seamlessly into Hollywood’s cultural fabric.

This call for artists will reach out for four different project opportunities across the project site. The aim for all four artwork opportunities is to create world-class public artworks that are designed to engage the community, and showcase Hollywood’s reputation as a vibrant, creative hub and enhance the various civic and public spaces. Selected artists and artist teams will be asked to demonstrate creative applications to support the building and activation of a community interconnected by its public art.
