This position coordinates the functions of the Retail Operations Department, provides support to the MOCA Store Manager, Director of Retail Operations, and problem solving, weekly reports, end-of-month reports and inventory.
Essential Functions:
● Assist Retail Director and Sales Manager with purchasing, vendor negotiations, monthly sales and inventory reports, yearly inventory management, weekly invoicing and weekly reordering
● Work with Finance to report End of Month sales
● Coordinate with Director and Sales Manager to oversee purchase requests and orders, receiving/transfers, shipping, adjustments, and damages
● Work with Webstore Coordinator on the addition of new items to the store’s website and the inventory status of existing online offerings
● Reconcile and code credit card expenses
● Code and submit weekly invoices to pay vendors
● Process paperwork for wholesale sales and maintain wholesale customer and product files
● Manage the delivery and internal distribution of MOCA catalogues in concert with Curatorial staff
● Coordinates the transfers of product between stores, delivery of deposits, and change orders for Geffen
● Assist with special event or emergency coverage for Sales Associates in all MOCA Stores
Requirements:
● Possession of effective interpersonal skills for working effectively with vendors, manufacturers, and company representatives
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
● Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and flexible with scheduling
● Strong administrative and recordkeeping skills
● Proficiency with Shopify Pro software
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, Gmail
● Ability to work some evenings and weekends (Sunday–Thursday, Thursday 6-8pm)
● Possession of a bachelor’s degree in art history, art education, studio art, or related field a plus
Hourly Rate: $22.26 per hour
Position covered by MOCA/AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement: Yes

Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required. Heavy usage of computers and phones required. Must periodically lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Has a valid California driver’s license and ability to drive between locations.
