Grants and Development Manager

Description

Location: Dogpatch, San Francisco (Hybrid)  ·  Reports to: Associate Development Director

Compensation Range: $78,000 – $85,000 + benefits (full-time, exempt)  · Start date: ASAP

BAYCAT seeks a grants & development manager to successfully manage our grants portfolio and grow our contributed revenue. This person will lead our grant administration and grant writing efforts, ensuring we write compelling content, nurture funder relationships, meet all grant deadlines and fulfill grant reporting requirements. A highly collaborative role, this person will manage the grants & donor communications coordinator and work closely with BAYCAT Academy and finance departments. They will also support development-led events.

Grant Administration – 30%

Grow and diversify BAYCAT’s earned revenue through government, foundation, and corporate grants in collaboration with the grants team and key leadership staff;  
Implement giving strategies to secure new funding in partnership with BAYCAT leadership; 
Build and project manage BAYCAT’s grant calendar, ensuring that all proposals, reports and agreements are submitted on time; 
Use BAYCAT’s Salesforce CRM to ensure efficient prospect and grant information capture/reporting;
Maintain meticulous digital records of all proposals and reports in Google Suite;
Gather and analyze quantitative/qualitative program data with support from BAYCAT Studio and Academy teams, and streamline data collection workflows as needed;
Support the development of budgets and revenue projections; and
Facilitate meetings and provide regular updates on fundraising progress.

Grant Writing – 50%

Produce compelling proposals, LOIs, and reports that reflect BAYCATS vision and values;
Conduct prospect research and recommend possible funders to the grants team;
Continually evolve BAYCAT’s case for support based on industry research, hiring trends, and principles of asset framed storytelling; 
Assist development leadership with proposals and outreach for major prospective funders;
Copy edit proposals and reports written by the grants coordinator;
Maintain supplemental documents, like funder lists, staff bios and financial documents; and 
Perform other writing or editing tasks as needed in support of BAYCATs fundraising goals.

Relationship Development and Management – 15%

Oversee the Grants and Donor Communication Coordinator;
Build, maintain and steward relationships with BAYCAT funders;
Utilize Salesforce to track key relationship touchpoints and milestones; and
Proactively grow internal relationships and engage in team building activities.
 

Events Support – 5%

Assist with meeting agendas and presentations for team meetings and development events; and
Support coordination and production for development-led events.
