Managing Director
Position:
The Managing Director will be responsible for all general administration, office systems, personnel, and finances, and oversee administrative, marketing, and development managers, working closely with program staff, related committees, and board of directors, under the direction of the Executive Director.
Work Hours:
Full time, 40 hours per week.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative
- Oversee Office Manager in general operations, calendar and compiling of statistics
- Maintain records (meeting minutes, policies and procedures, development records, archives)
- Manage the organization’s database, computer systems, equipment, facilities and storage
- Support the Executive Director work with the board relations and board business
Fundraising
- Manage development systems and support planning and implementation
- Assist with funding requests and reports, tracking of statistics and compliance with requirements
- Assist with Development and Special Events Committees, as needed
Programmatic
- Work with Program Managers to assure compliance with protocols and funding requests
- Observe programs periodically to support evaluation of program implementation and to better serve as an ambassador of the organization
Marketing
- Supports Marketing Manager in development/distribution of marketing materials, PR and social media
- Assist in representing organization to the public, donors, press and partners
Finances
- Develops annual budget with Executive Director and managers of each department
- Assist with renewing and maintaining insurance policies
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS
- Knowledge of theatre and arts education
- General knowledge of office skills, use of office equipment
- Proficient/Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products is required
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Action oriented; strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills
- Ability to work independently in a changing environment

EDUCATION
- Post-secondary education in a related field or commensurate experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to read, write and speak Spanish fluently (not required, but preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to sit for prolonged periods of time at meetings, desk, computer
- Able to view a computer screen for an extended period of time
- Able to speak into and use a telephone
- Able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fast-paced work with multi-level distractions
- Requires a balance of independent work and collaboration
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Must be able to satisfy requirements for security clearances at correctional institutions
- Must have a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance
SALARY
- Salaried/Nonexempt
- Annual Salary range between $55,120-$62,400 (DOE)
- Health care stipend of $300/month provided
