Mendocino Art Center’s Artists in Residence (AIR) and Professional Artists in Retreat (PAIR) programs provide an inspirational and supportive environment that fuels and encourages artistic growth in the Visual Arts to artists interested in furthering their practice.
The AIR and PAIR programs bring both emerging and established artists from all over the country to a unique art center on the rural Northern California coast. This secluded location provides tranquility in a historic artist community rich with inspiration and local talent. In addition to providing studio space and furnished studio apartments, the program provides the freedom to develop at one’s own pace in the chosen area of focus, as well as the opportunity for interaction with other disciplines. Our studios (see studio descriptions in the prospectus) in Fine Art, Jewelry/Metal Arts, and Ceramics are actively used for instruction, production, individual study and casual drop-in open studios.
Residency dates: October 1, 2022 to May 15, 2023 (7.5 months)
Retreat dates: October 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023 (1 or 2 months stays available)
