The City of Santa Clarita is seeking artwork for consideration for an upcoming exhibit at Newhall Community Center. For this art exhibition Santa Clarita Arts asks artists to submit artwork that shows or represents the bonds and ties of family. What does family mean to you? Family bonds can be shown through holding hands, hugging, sitting by a campfire together, and more. Artworks for this exhibit should express to the viewer the strength, love, and compassion for family or a family member. Applicants may submit artworks in the medium of their choosing as long as it is WIRED. The City of Santa Clarita utilizes a special wiring system that requires all artworks to be brought WIRED in order to safely hang. This includes but is not limited to paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, and textiles.

Mailed artwork will NOT be accepted. Artwork must be physically dropped off on the agreed upon date. This call is open to LA County, surrounding areas, and those willing to drop off. 

Artwork exceeding 25 pounds in weight will not be accepted.
This project is open to all artists, regardless of race, color, religion, natural origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disabilities. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.

Deadline to Apply: February 27, 2022 at 11:59pm 

Art Drop Off/Installation: March 21, 2022

Exhibition Closes/Art Pick Up: May 23, 2022

The City’s Arts and Events reserves the right to change the project timeline.

*Artists will be notified of juried results roughly two week after the deadline. Any inquiries within two week will not be responded too.*
