The Communications team at SFFILM is seeking a detail-oriented Press Office Coordinator for the 65th San Francisco International Film Festival (April 21–May 1, 2022). The Press Office Coordinator is responsible for coordination and administrative support of all activities of the Press Office leading up to and during the 65th SFFILM Festival in San Francisco. The role will serve as a connection between the systems and content from the communications and programming teams and our publicity team, Jessie Cohen PR & Consulting, and will be directed by SFFILM’s Director of External Relations and JCPR.

Responsibilities:

Managing media accreditation process (200~ applications), including outlet review/investigation, communication of approval/denial, and credential production. 
Managing communication with film teams, studios, and distributors around press access for screeners and other press materials.
Collecting, organizing, and processing press materials for all SFFILM Festival films, including screeners, images, press kits, and clips.
Leading setup of press download site, including upload of 1000+ individual assets for March 30 program announcement.
Collaborating with JCPR on materials processing and coverage tracking.
Managing screener checkout system, for staff and press.
Setting up and managing the internal Program Briefing.
Assisting in execution of press conference and press screenings.
Facilitating setup of interview space.
Supporting the operation of Festival Press Office, including staff schedules.
Writing and editing press release drafts for SFFILM Festival programs as needed.
Working screenings, events, red carpets, and receptions as needed.
Write and submit a wrap report.

Qualifications:

Extreme attention to detail.
Ability to wrangle and organize thousands of individual assets (images, press kits, bios, video files, screening links) in a coherent and accessible manner.
Experience working with journalists and film teams, studios and distributors.
Superior communication skills, both email and phone.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proven ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Experience with Filemaker preferred.
Passion for cinema.

DATES:

Start date Mon, Feb 28

End date Fri, May 6

RATES: 

Pay rate: $22 per hour, eligible for overtime pay.

This position will be expected to work overtime prior to and during the SFFILM Festival.

VACCINE REQUIREMENT/COVID-19 SAFETY:

Seasonal staff at the 2022 SFFILM Festival may be required to engage in public-facing roles and thus are required to provide proof of vaccination for employment. 

REMOTE WORK ACCOMMODATION:

Seasonal staff are expected to be based in the Bay Area, however if your contract begins before March 1, 2022, SFFILM may be able to accommodate fully remote work prior to that date. 

Remote work policies are subject to change based on city and state recommendations around COVID-19 safety.
