The City of Santa Clarita Arts and Events division (City) is seeking five artists to design and display artwork on five 60-inches by 60-inches canvases, totaling a 5-feet by 20-feet display. Each selected artist will be provided by the City with one (1) blank canvas, artists must use the provided canvas. The display will be featured above the Valencia Library Children’s area for a year starting in February 2022 – February 2023. We are seeking art proposals revolving around the theme of woodland nature scenes. We are asking for past and previous work, as well as a written or sketched proposal for this project. Each artist will be awarded a $250 stipend (the canvas is provided by the City, and the piece will be given back to the artist at the end of the exhibit).

IMPORTANT DATES

Deadline to Apply: October 24, 2021

Canvas Pick Up: Selected artists will be notified with pick up dates

Project Completion Deadline/Art Drop off: Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10am

Installation: Friday, February 25, 2022

The City’s Arts and Events reserves the right to change the project timeline.
