Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 2nd “Waters” Online Art Competition for the month of November. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. First, second and third place will be largely displayed with an article about the artist and their work. First place will be on the poster of the show. Artists and photographers from around the world are welcome to submit their best artworks related to Waters (seascapes, oceans, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, streams, ponds). A variety of interpretations can be submitted (representative, abstract, conceptional). Mission
Since 1985, Playwrights Project has been empowering people of all ages and backgrounds to voice stories through theatre, inspiring individual growth and meaningful community connections. Programs include playwriting programs in schools and disenfranchised communities (primarily system involved youth and adults), a statewide playwriting contest for youth, community performances, and professional productions: Plays by Young Writers (winning scripts from the contest) and Mosaic (plays by adults in our community programs).
Position
Playwrights Project seeks a Development Associate half-time (20 hrs/wk) to join our dynamic team and help orchestrate fundraising and marketing efforts to increase awareness and support of Playwrights Project. This position works closely with staff and related committees, under the guidance of the Executive Director.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising/Grants
· Help manage development plans
o Regularly check email for grant communications
o Assist with the preparation of proposals/confirmations/reports
o Assist with tracking progress of tasks delegated to staff to meet deadlines
o Assist Executive Director with drafting grant proposals/confirmations/reports
o Submit requests/confirmations/reports
o Track program compliance with donor requirements
· Research donors and funding opportunities
· Participate on Development Committees and take minutes
Fundraising/Special Event
· Help coordinate fundraising events with staff and committee members
· Participate on Special Events Committees and take minutes
Fundraising/Individual Donors
Assist efforts to deepen involvement of current donors, encourage program participants to contribute to PWP, attract new donors, and generate lead gifts
· Organize and track donations, keep current documentation on donors and prospects
· Help coordinate efforts for individual requests and annual appeals
· Prepare and send thank you letters/acknowledgements
Programmatic
· Work with Program Managers to communicate compliance protocols for funding
· Observe programs periodically to experience programs for reporting and communications
Finances
· Maintain records of gifts in DonorPerfect, cross checking accuracy with finance staff
· Assist in monitoring costs related to areas managed (e.g. fundraising and special events)

Piano Teacher
Position Title: Piano Teacher
Status: Part-time
Position Summary:
Teach individual lessons to piano students at beginning through advanced levels from age 5 and beyond. Midyear progress reports are required along with participation in juries during the spring semester. Adjudicating on the weekly recital series is encouraged once per term. Sundays is a required teaching day with other days being more flexible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach non-college elementary, intermediate, and advanced piano students with an emphasis on basic technique and command of appropriate repertoire.
Evaluate students to determine appropriate skill level.
Recruit and maintain studio of non-college piano students.
Participate in activities such as, but not limited to, departmental student auditions, Friday Night Recital adjudication, juries, progress reports, concerts, workshops, class performances, and faculty meetings.
Cooperate with and encourage students to audition for chamber music chairperson as appropriate.
Assist students with recording sessions for auditions, competitions, etc.
Maintain lesson schedule.
Hold regular studio recitals.
Arrange performance opportunities for students, as appropriate.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Master degree or higher, or equivalent professional experience preferred with significant interest and experience in teaching piano.
Active performing/studio career preferred.
Ability to contribute to a positive, supportive team environment required.
Ability to work with a diverse student population required.
Good communication skills.
Other skills and abilities required:
Attend school and departmental events.
Hold parent meetings/conferences to address student problems or issues.
Evaluate students as appropriate.
