Prominent art studio in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Assistant to join a motivated and committed team. This position will provide direct administrative support for a busy artist to ensure his activities, appointments and professional/personal needs run smoothly. We are seeking someone with a can-do attitude and a clear sense of what it means for a job to be completed and well-done. The Skirball Cultural Center seeks a Store Manager of Retail Operations to lead our Sales and Service team in Audrey’s Museum Store, the satellite Noah’s Ark Store, and the online store. The Store Manager will set the standard for excellence by creating a warm, engaging, and consistently well-merchandised space by partnering with the entire department management team. The Store Manager will also assist in a variety of initiatives to support our ongoing and varied business requirements and act as the manager-on-duty for the admissions desk as needed. This is a full-time, exempt position.
Starting salary: $60,000–70,000 per year
Responsibilities:
Financial
- Tracks and meets daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals and targets metrics through visitor engagement.
- Assists in managing incoming and outgoing financial paperwork, mainly invoices, and ensures they are accurately entered into accounting programs.
- Ensures expenses comply with approved budgets.
- Analyzes sales and expenses for optimum profitability and to create a holistic experience for Skirball visitors.

Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes

- Assist program staff as needed to plan, execute, and evaluate in-person programming including in-gallery family activities, Contemporary Art Start and its Rebecca Smith Summer Institute for Teachers, and the recruitment and selection process for the MOCA Teen Program.

Educator
MOCA Education strives to make education more collaborative, inclusive, and learner-centered, to nurture intellectual growth through experiences with contemporary art, and to increase access to the transformative power of art.
The Educator will work primarily within Contemporary Art Start (CAS), the Museum’s year-long partnership program for 3rd-12th grade classrooms across Los Angeles County. Through CAS, MOCA invests in supporting teachers to lead inclusive discussions about contemporary art with their students.
Within this part-time position (12-20 hours per week), the Educator will primarily assist with the development and implementation of discussion-based tours for students and learner-centered professional development training sessions for teachers within CAS, as well as assist with our family programs. Family programs include in-person events that incorporate guided tours, artmaking experiences and online programs with guided discussions and accessible artmaking activities, and more. MOCA is looking for candidates who are interested in developing into highly trained teacher-coaches.
