The California Arts Council announces that the application is now available for the 2011-12 Statewide Networks Program. The goal of the Statewide Networks Program is strengthen an organization’s capacity and delivery of services to its constituents through communications, professional development opportunities, networking and arts advocacy.
Statewide and regional culturally specific, multicultural, and discipline-based arts networks and service organizations are eligible to apply. Organizations must have at least a two-year track record of developing their field and providing services to their constituent base (individual artists and/or arts organizations). Final application and supplementary materials — including a California Cultural Data Project (California CDP) Funder Report for the Statewide Networks Program — are due on March 16, 2012.
For this program, “Statewide” is defined as organizational networks with a statewide representation. “Regional” for this program means serving constituencies in at least three non-contiguous counties. “Culturally specific and multicultural statewide arts networks” refers to organizational networks, which are rooted in and reflective of underserved ethnic and cultural communities. The application for the 2011-12 Statewide Networks program is completely on line, and applicants are required to fill out a profile through the California Cultural Data Project and submit supplementary material along with the application.
About the Cultural Data Project: The California CDP is an online, statewide data collection effort for arts and culture designed to provide an easier application process for potential grantees through the development of a standardized form for organizational data that will accompany grant requests to the partnering funders.
Applicants will only need to complete the California CDP form once each year. Once the California CDP profile is complete, an arts organization can easily run a financial and/or data report as requested by each funder, instead of compiling individual reports for each grant application.
