Pacific Chorale Academy is a unique after-school choir program which combines music education and character building, offered free to students in grades 2-6 at selected partner sites. Resident teaching artists lead weekly rehearsals which focus on persistence, teamwork, and responsibility along with musical skills.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the core daily administrative operations of the Grammy-nominated Pacific Chorale, the resident chorus of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. This position collaborates with a seven-member administrative team across a wide range of organizational functions from marketing, development, special events, and artistic production to general office administration. This person must be able to keep the office organized and running efficiently while also demonstrating the flexibility and self-direction to prioritize and address the fluctuating demands between a variety of routine daily tasks, unexpected priorities, and ongoing, long-term projects. Since this position often serves as the first point of contact for Pacific Chorale constituents, this person should possess excellent communication skills and deliver excellent customer service when interfacing with a wide range of artists, vendors, and patrons.
Director of Development
Pacific Chorale, the Grammy-nominated resident chorus of Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a qualified nonprofit development professional to serve as its Director of Development. The Director of Development works directly with the President to identify, cultivate, and engage Pacific Chorale’s patrons to achieve our $1.5 million annual fundraising goals and to build and nurture a thriving community of passionate supporters. This person is charged with leading the annual fundraising plan, including guiding the annual fund campaign and facilitating major gift solicitation and stewardship. In addition, this person will plan and manage the Chorale’s annual major fundraising events and several other small donor cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year.
Qualified candidates will bring an entrepreneurial approach to enlist new strategies to acquire, renew, retain, and recognize our valued patrons. They will have a demonstrated record of retaining and stewarding current major donors and for cultivating new donors. They will possess a deep knowledge and understanding of leveraging CRM platforms as a development resource, preferably with experience working with the Tessitura system. This dynamic fundraising professional will be a seasoned, unflappable development leader who thrives working in a very hands-on, highly collaborative team environment and interfacing with highly passionate and dedicated patrons.

2022 Art That’s Small Guidelines

“Art That’s Small at City Hall” is an open exhibition coordinated by the City of Laguna Beach Arts Commission. All works deemed acceptable will be exhibited at Laguna Beach City Hall, located at 505 Forest Avenue, from March 7 through April 16, 2022, and via online catalogue.
Entry and Deadline: Artwork must be delivered to Laguna Beach City Hall, 505 Forest Avenue, on Saturday March 12, 2022, between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Eligibility: Entries will be accepted from residents of Orange County ages 18 or older. All entries must be original artworks created within the past two years and have not previously been exhibited at City Hall. Employees, Council members, Board members and Commissioners of the City of Laguna Beach are not eligible to apply.
Entry Requirements: A fee of $15 will be charged with one entry allowed per artist. Payments by check must be made payable to the City of Laguna Beach or cash payment is accepted. Artwork must be no larger than 12” along any edge, including the frame, and 3” in depth. Artwork may include oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, drawing, mixed media and relief. Artwork must be dry, in suitable display condition, and securely wired for hanging.
The Cultural Arts Department, Arts Commission and appointed exhibition juror(s) retain the right to reject any submissions that do not fit the guidelines or spirit of the exhibition or that may be deemed inappropriate.
2022 Banner Competition
Honorarium: $4,000 per completed banner
Eligibility: Open to Orange County, CA residents, 18 years of age or older. Employees, Council members, Board members and Commissioners of the City of Laguna Beach are not eligible to apply.
The City of Laguna Beach Banner Competition is a project of the Arts Commission. Selected artists are provided with 16 ft. x 4 ft. two-sided banner material on which to paint original artwork. The completed banners are displayed on lampposts throughout the city of Laguna Beach during June, July and August and celebrate the summer season. The banners are temporary and will be displayed when and where the City desires for up to 7 years or based on condition.

For this art exhibition Las Laguna Art Gallery asked artists to interpret and depict outdoor scenery, and geographical environments’ including Landscapes or Seascapes.
Landscapes traditionally include natural scenery such a mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, and forests, especially where the main subject is a wide view – with its elements arranged into a coherent composition. In other works, landscape backgrounds for figures can still form an important part of the work.
Seascapes can include geographical features such as shorelines, beaches, oceans, as well as include structures such as lighthouses or lifeguard shacks.
For abstract works landscapes can include colors, shapes or mark making that expresses the concept or idea of landscapes.Note: All artists who submit to this show will be accepted and have at least one of their submitted works posted and promoted on our website. A select number of artists will be selected to send their work to the gallery for the in-person exhibition at our brick and mortar gallery in Laguna Beach, California.
