Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 4th “Faces” Online Art Competition for the month of September 2023. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. Only the face of a person or animal should be visible (single person, a group, or self-portrait). All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. Fee is 18 $ for the 2 images of artwork, $28 for 4 images and $40 for up to 6 images. All selected artists will receive a digital award certificate. First, second and third place will be largely displayed with an article about the artist and their work. Winning artwork (First place) will be on the poster of the show. Depending on the number and quality of all submissions received, Merit awards and Honorable Mention awards may also be presented. The deadline to apply to this art competition is September 21, 2023.

Yellow Art Contest
Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the third “Yellow” online art contest for the month of September. Best of Show will be on the poster of the show. All winning artists (Merit Award & Honorable Mention) will receive a digital award certificate. Artists from around the world are welcome to submit. The theme may include any work with depiction of the color “Yellow” or shades of Yellow (beige, lemon yellow, canary yellow, golden yellow). All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. $20 for 2 images, $30 for 4, $42 for 6, and $50 for up to 8 images. Deadline: September 14, 2023.

JANM also speaks out when diversity, individual dignity, and social justice are undermined, vigilantly sharing the hard-fought lessons accrued from this history. JANM’s voice has never been more urgent or relevant than during this time of rising Anti-Asian hate and racism, and it has committed to galvanizing and advocating for the AAPI community.
The role of the Education Administrative Assistant involves the day-do-day scheduling and coordination of the activities of the Group Visits and Classroom Outreach Programs. Involves scheduling group visits, outreach visits, volunteer docents and facilitators, preparing materials for daily visits, and maintaining the group tour schedule on Altru and in google calendar. This position will work closely with staff, museum volunteers, and school teachers and administrators to ensure smooth execution of school visit programs. Scheduled on-site, Tuesday to Saturdays. Anti-bias and anti-racist teaching must be promoted.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Museum Studies or Asian American Studies preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 1 year of experience working in a customer service role communicating with customers on scheduling. Administrative assistant experience in a non-profit, volunteer-centered organization and experience in education or customer service role in a museum is beneficial. Understanding of basic principles of volunteer management. Professional phone and email manner is essential. Knowledge of school district policies and procedures. Ability to adjust and provide appropriate action when unanticipated need arises. Ability to maintain flexibility when responding to changing needs of visitors and volunteers, problem solving, and decision making skills are essential when ensuring quality visitor experience. Knowledge of Japanese American history, culture and community is a plus; however, sensitivity to issues of diversity and ethnicity is essential. Background and credit check required and employees must be up to date on COVID-19 vaccine with Bivalent booster dose when eligible. Experience with MS Office, Zoom, and Altru. 9th Annual Figures & Faces Art Competition
Fusion Art invites submissions for the 9th Annual Figures & Faces art competition for an online exhibition during the month of October 2023.
For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art depicting the human form – both figures & faces. All artists, regardless of location or experience, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography.

ELIGIBILITY
This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. Work that has been selected for previous exhibits with Art Fluent will not be considered.
RULES
Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Open to ALL fine art mediums -now including film/video (oil, acrylic, watermedia, pastel, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, sculpture, fiber, wood, ceramics, film/video, digital art- AI will not be accepted).
SELECTION PROCESS
Director’s choice. Each show is curated and juried by Creative Director, Amy Matteson Neill along with an anonymous committee of jurors. Please note, there is no personal feedback given by jurors.
ENTRY PROCEDURE
Entry is done through CaFÉ, a web-based service that allows artists to upload images and organize their artwork for submissions to galleries. To apply for a call, you must leave our website and go to the CaFÉ website at www.callforentry.org where you can create a FREE artist account. You will add your details and upload your images to CaFÉ and then you can submit work to NOIR. If you have any questions, please contact us at hello@art-fluent.com we are happy to walk you through the process.
MEDIA PREPARATION
Please only submit properly cropped images of your work that are in focus. We have a free resource for artists for tips on how to get high quality images of your work. Visit www.art-fluent.com/resources for a free download. CaFÉ also offers tips on their blog which you can find here www.callforentry.org/photographing-artwork/.
All images must be in JPEG/JPG format using CaFÉ guidelines. The image size must be 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side and 400 pixels on the shortest side. Maximum file size is 5 mb.
Accepted video formats include MOV, MP4, WMV. Aspect ratio 4:3 or 16:9, resolution minimum 640×480, maximum 1920 x1080, bit rate recommended above 240 kbps, recommended frame rate 30 fps. File size must be under 100 MB. If your video work has been selected for the exhibit, we kindly request that you provide us with the file link via Vimeo.
NOTIFICATION
Notification will be done by email, everyone who submits will be notified of the juror’s selections. If for any reason you do not hear from us by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account. Notification emails are sent to the email on file with CaFÉ.
SALES
All sales inquiries will be directed to the artist’s website and/or contact information. For any artwork that is sold, the artists receive 100% of the sale.
GIVING BACK
A portion of the proceeds from the entry fees is donated to organizations committed to the arts and supporting artists.
REQUIRED FORMS
Cash awards over $600 are subject to federal income tax withholding within the United States. A W-9 form must be filled out by the winner and submitted to Art Fluent, Inc.
REGULATIONS
By entering our calls for art through CaFÉ you are agreeing to be added to Art Fluent’s email list for forthcoming artist opportunities. By submitting images, you agree that the images are your own work, nothing copied, you own all rights to the images, and you take full responsibility for the content of all images, including the likeness of recognizable individuals. The actual artwork will remain the property of the artist, our mission is to promote artists and their work. Should your work be accepted, you grant Art Fluent the right to reproduce your image on our website, on social media, and where appropriate to help promote further online opportunities. Art Fluent will always credit you and your copyright wherever feasible. We will not use your image for any other purpose without the artist’s permission.

The Nature theme may include everything that is nature related (landscapes, seascapes, skies, world of flora and fauna, etc). A variety of interpretations can be submitted (representative, abstract, conceptual). All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. $18 entry fee.
