International Art Competition Portrait
Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 7th “Portrait” Online Art Competition for the month of December 2024. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. We invite artist and photographers to submit their best artworks related to the Portrait theme. A portrait may be a single person, a group, or self-portrait. A variety of interpretations of the Portrait theme can be submitted. All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. Open Call: Experimental Animation
Still Rendering is pleased to announce Experimental Animation, an online juried exhibition. We are seeking submissions for our inaugural open call. We envision this first exhibition as a broad survey of contemporary artists’ animation. If you are an artist working in experimental animation, we want to see what you are making.
Open Call: Experimental Animation will be curated by Darren Douglas Floyd, Founder and Executive Director of Still Rendering Production and a guest curator. The selected works will be shown in an online exhibition at stillrendering.org.
Still Rendering was founded in 2024 to provide open call opportunities for artists who animate. While there are many animation festival opportunities, there are relatively few open calls that explicitly include or focus on animation. This tendency shapes experimental animation towards what is screenable in the festival context (i.e. linear single channel works) and forecloses on wider experiments in animation art.
