L.A. PHOTO CURATOR ‘THE GREAT ESCAPE’ juried by Nancy Baron & Jennifer McClure
THEME: The Great Escape
“Welcome, summer! Summer may be the quintessential season for escape, but the desire—and the methods—for escaping are with us throughout the year. Whether physical or emotional, passive or active, internal or
external, the urge to break away is deeply personal and
endlessly varied. Through your photographic practice—however you choose to express it—we invite you to explore and share what escapism means to you. Give us your interpretation of the essence of escaping, the motivation behind it, or both. Your expression can be intimate or expansive, individual or collective.
We want to see what you’re running from or where you’re running to. Show us where your thoughts take you, the people who put you back together, or the places that make you feel alive. For some, the photograph represents the escape, and for others, the act of photographing is the escape. We’re excited to see your vision of The Great Escape and hope the creative process brings you peace and introspection.”
5% of artist entry fees goes to the charity of the jurors. Nancy Baron and Jennifer McClure have chosen Feed the Children.
Another 5% will go to the first place winner’s choice of charity.
ALL entrants work is shown on their own page with their artist statement, website info & bio in the online group exhibition.
First Place winner receives Q&A with the jurors. Jurors review first place winner. The Q&A is all done online and the results are included in a piece about the artist in L.A. Photo Curator’s themed exhibition. One or more past jurors may contribute reviews as well. 5% of artist fees goes to the first place winner’s charity. The first place image shows on our splash page for a month.
We will waive the fee for 2 entrants per competition. Just contact us at laphotocurator@yahoo.com.
