Aesthetic Dynamics
AESTHETIC DYNAMICS
Free entry│Call for Exhibition
Photographers are invited to submit 1 up to 3 photos addressing the theme.
Group Exhibition in Rome. January 2026
–
The aesthetic elaborations that turn their gaze towards formal dynamics have originated from the studies on the organic world. These have been being developed since the nineteenth century, thanks to scientific discoveries and technological inventions such as the microscope, x-rays, microphotography, etc., and all these are tools through which artists could also observe the natural world: in this cultural context Art Noveau develops as an artistic phenomenon characterized by a style that uses curved and sinuous lines to create fluid and dynamic shapes inspired by nature.
Stemming out of very different principles and cultural backgrounds, other important movements have later given wide space to studies on aesthetic dynamics, such as Futurism, a movement born during the technological boom that allowed a new perception of space and time, and a movement that, inspired above all else by the inventions in the field of communication, gave life to new aesthetics that represent a praise to speed.
The “Aesthetic Dynamics” call deals with a theme that inherits intellectual historical precepts from which, thanks to continuous scientific and technological development, it is still possible to provide new perceptions of reality.
This call welcomes photographic works with no limit of style and genre.

Call For Photography: Beauty in Decay
Beauty is subjective in the eye of the viewer. Societal conventions pressure us to conform to like-mindedness, yet the most ethereal craft often originates from divergent work that transgresses tradition. True innovation and creative brilliance often occur when individuals question or break away from established norms. How does your work depict or challenge the concept of beauty?
Beauty in Decay is an international open call for photographers ages 18 and older. All forms of two-dimensional images, traditional and non-conventional media, and conventional or alternative photographic processes with a subjective analog or digital photographic base are welcome for submission.
Submission Deadline: June 15th, 2025
Juror Notifications: June 27th 27th, 2025

Call for Submissions: Juried Exhibition “Let Nature In” at The Painting Center!
The Painting Center is seeking submissions for the juried group exhibition Let Nature In curated by Kathleen Beausoleil and Shazzi Thomas. The exhibition will be held in person and on Artsy from July 22 – August 16, 2025, with an opening reception on July 24. Let Nature In will feature contemporary artists who continue to engage with the natural world by offering fresh perspectives on our ever-evolving relationship with its environment. From the earliest cave paintings of trees and plants to the intricate floral motifs of 10th-century Eastern art, nature has been a constant source of creativity – an open invitation to reflect and create. In Western art, landscape painting did not emerge as a central subject until the 16th century, which led to rich traditions of pastoral scenes and florals. Throughout history, depictions of nature have served both artistic and functional purposes—vast landscapes were once used to strategize battles, while the detailed botanical illustrations of the 18th and 19th centuries documented plant species for scientific study. Artists have let nature influence their work by bringing the outside in. Claude Monet immersed himself in his water lilies, transforming the play of light on the water into a dreamlike experience. Georgia O’Keeffe magnified the beauty of flowers, pushing them toward abstraction. Andy Goldsworthy works with natural materials, creating ephemeral sculptures that unfold with the elements. For Let Nature In, we invite artists to join this timeless conversation—to reinterpret, challenge, and deepen our connection to the natural world through works that don’t just depict nature but breathe with it literally and sometimes metaphorically, letting the outside seep into our consciousness.
