Artist Space Gallery is pleased to announce their 1st Botanicals online Art Competition for the month of February. The jury will select award winners in the following art categories: painting, photography, sculpture. All selected artists will receive a digital award certificate. An article about each artist will be displayed alongside the best of show and three winners. The best of show will be displayed on the poster of the exhibition. An interpretation of botanical and floral art can be included in the Botanicals theme (flowers, herbs, fruit, leaves, plants and related floral subjects). Position Description
The Senior Manager, Fellowship Programs reports to the Deputy Director of Programs and Engagement and is responsible for strategic planning, conceptualization, and implementation of fellowship programs at Headlands as well as a menu of programs, retreats, exhibitions, and other activities that support the Fellows and Headlands. The Senior Manager, Fellowship Programs works with the programs team and staff at Headlands to support the trajectory of Fellows at Headlands from outreach and application to individualized guidance on Fellows’ projects and programs and fellowship program feedback and evaluation. This person is primarily responsible for the Graduate Fellowship, Bay Area Fellowship, and Threshold Fellowship programs and advises on and implements artist applications and the selection process. The Senior Manager, Fellowship Programs will develop strategic collaborations within Headlands, as well as outside partnerships that advance the reach, impact, and relevance of Headlands fellowships as well as offering direct support that connect Fellows to a range of Headlands resources and networks.
The Senior Manager, Fellowship Programs works with the Executive Director and the Deputy Director of Programs to develop, produce, and present public events, exhibitions and special programs, as needed. This person will set goals for the area in consultation with the Deputy Director of Programs and Engagement and the Executive Director.
Responsibilities

Fellowship Management
Steward Headlands’ Graduate, Bay Area, and Threshold Fellowship programs.
Produce and distribute guidelines for application and maintain an active outreach and recruitment program for all Fellowship programs.
Oversee application, review, and selection process, including application editing, outreach to potential applicants, and communication with applicants and panelists
Manage regular artist/partner communications.
Orient incoming artists; act as ongoing support/organizational liaison for Bay Area and Threshold Fellows with communication of events, dinners, formal and informal activities and advocacy for artist needs during organizational planning and prioritization.
Project manage the Graduate Fellowship culminating exhibition.
Solicit, gather, and prepare information for ongoing program evaluation.
Administer the Threshold Fellows’ stipends and the Bay Area Fellows’ stipends and health care coverage.
Work with the communications team to bring visibility to Fellows’ projects and the Headlands Fellowship programs.
Collaborate with the programs team on the assembly of a robust and engaging seasonal calendar of programs that includes Fellows’ projects.
General Department Support
Some database maintenance for the program department, especially around applicants and alumni artists.
Organization and archiving of information on the organization’s shared server and Google Drive.
Attend staff and departmental meetings.
Work collaboratively with the Programs team and Operations and Facilities Departments to produce and plan cross-departmental initiatives such as exhibitions and Open Houses.
Participate in interviews and selection of interns and oversee intern’s programming projects as needed and/or when appropriate.
Other duties as needed.
Position Requirements
A BA Degree or commensurate experience required
2+ years of arts administration experience preferred
Experience working with public sector agencies preferred

Demonstrated awareness, experience, and competence in working with a diverse, multi-racial, multicultural, and varied socio-economic client population

Due to our Marin Headlands location, reliable vehicle access is required
Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends

Since 2001, Outside the Lens (OTL) has amplified the voices of youth through photography, filmmaking, and digital media art, enabling them to produce work that has catalyzed change within themselves, their communities, and the world. Students tell their unique personal stories under the guidance of writers, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, and teachers. We provide programming to youth in historically marginalized communities, both offsite and within school settings, offer onsite programming for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and train teachers and other youth providers in arts integration. OTL has reached more than 22,000 students since its inception.

OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
The Executive Director is an experienced and compassionate senior leader with the vision, expertise and passion for furthering the media arts/social justice mission of OTL. This leader is an inspiring and effective communicator with the ability to engage, motivate, nurture, and collaborate with an array of diverse professionals including board and staff members, volunteers, leaders of allied organizations, school leaders, individual donors, contractors, and grantmaking organizations. Adept at strategic management and committed to continuous improvement, the Executive Director is a culturally aware community advocate and fundraiser who has a deep understanding of how to lead and manage all aspects of a mission-driven nonprofit organization.
Among the Executive Director’s many duties, this leader is responsible for:
Strategic and Collaborative Leadership
- Working with existing and potential partners throughout San Diego County to identify and foster collaborative efforts for advancing the work.
- Building a positive workplace culture that utilizes inclusive language and practices to foster cohesion and innovation among diverse staff and volunteers.
- Engaging the program and administrative staff in transparent and supportive conversations among and between them that energize the staff and produce new strategies for approaching the work.
- Stewarding change within the organization through visionary and strategic work that builds upon the integrity and quality of the existing work to scale the organization to achieve an even greater impact.
External Relations and Fundraising
- Raising the visibility of OTL through public speaking, promotional activities, and media messaging that inspires engagement.

- Identifying and fostering relationships with individuals, corporations, government agencies, and foundations to promote the work of OTL and to secure resources for its work.
Management

- Overseeing the financial and operational activities of the organization in collaboration with other senior staff.
- Providing ongoing strategic recommendations to the board based on new programmatic and funding opportunities, trends in the field, staff input/expertise, creativity, financial analysis, and risk assessment.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A passion for and commitment to furthering the media arts/social justice mission of OTL.
- Proven ability to strategically scale an organization.
- A track record of generating revenue for a mission-driven organization.
- Proven executive-level experience communicating, negotiating, and collaborating with diverse partners.
- Significant experience supervising, coaching, supporting, and mentoring a diverse staff and volunteer team.
- The ability to speak persuasively to audiences of all types.

International Art Competition Green
Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 1st “Green” Online Art Competition for the month of November 2022. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. You are welcome to submit any style or subject matter as long as the theme color “Green” is prominent. All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. First place will be on the poster of the show. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. $15 for 2 images, $28 for 4, and $40 for up to 6 images. Deadline: November 24, 2022.
