Artist Space Gallery is pleased to announce our 1st Yellow online Art Competition for the month of June. The jury will select award winners in the following art categories: painting, photography, sculpture. All selected artists will receive a digital award certificate. An article about each artist will be displayed alongside the best of show and three winners. Artists are welcome to submit any art featuring the color yellow or a shade of yellow (beige, lemon yellow, canary yelow, golden yellow). All forms of visual art are acceptable (painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, fiber art, collage, and installation), except sound and video art. $20 for two pieces of artwork. Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the fourth Botanicals online art contest for the month of June 2023. Contest is open to all artists worldwide over 18 years of age. The gallery invites artists and photographers to share their artistic vision using any work with with interpretation of botanical and floral art (flowers, herbs, fruit, leaves, plants and related floral subcjects). All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. Winning artwork (Best of Show) will be on the poster of the show. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. The deadline to submit entries is the June 15, 2023.
Development Associate
Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco (also known as Chinese Culture Center or CCC) is seeking an Development Associate, an energetic and passionate individual committed to supporting the arts and the underserved.
The Development Associate plays a vital role in supporting fundraising efforts and ensuring the financial sustainability of CCC. This position works closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Director and other team members to implement fundraising strategies, manage donor relationships, contribute to corporate strategy development, and support the overall success of the organization’s development initiatives.The Development Associate is responsible for supporting the planning, organizing, and implementation of CCC’s key fundraising initiatives including Contemporaries program, annual gala, VIP and special events. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relationship Management:
- Assist in cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with individual donors and members, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government agencies.
- Support donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgment letters, thank-you calls, and personalized communications.
Donor Database Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the organization’s donor database.
- Input donor information, track interactions and gifts, and generate reports as needed.
- Regularly review data for accuracy and integrity.
Fundraising Events Support:
- Collaborate with the programs team to plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, including annual gala, donor and VIP events with exhibitions, programs and other donor appreciation activities.
- Assist in invitations, event production, guest registration, and on-site event support.
Communications and Marketing:
- Lead in the development of fundraising materials, including sponsorship packets, appeal letters, brochures, and newsletters.
- Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging across various platforms.
- Assist in maintaining the organization’s social media presence related to development activities.
Corporate Strategy Support:
- Assist the Executive Director in researching and identifying opportunities for corporate partnerships and sponsorships, and supporting with follow through.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate fundraising strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and values.
Donor and Member Communications:
- Lead on drafting personalized communications to donors and members, including acknowledgment letters, updates, and impact reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of communications to maintain positive donor relationships.
Research and Prospect Identification:
- Conduct research to identify potential individual, corporate, and foundation prospects for fundraising purposes.
- Provide comprehensive background information and donor profiles to support cultivation strategies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in analyzing fundraising data and generating regular reports to evaluate campaign progress, donor trends, and overall fundraising performance.
- Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations based on data insights.
Financial Administration:
- Collaborate with the administration team to reconcile donations, assist in budget monitoring, and support financial reporting related to development activities.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.Grant Research and Writing:
- Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programs as needed.
- Assist in writing persuasive grant proposals, applications, and letters of inquiry, ensuring compliance with guidelines and deadlines
Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the executive team, board members, volunteers, and other staff members, to support development efforts.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
Executive Director Support:
- Assist the Executive Director in organizing and coordinating Board of Directors meetings and events.
- Compile meeting agendas and prepare support materials.
- Ensure timely distribution of meeting materials to Board members.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, including room setup.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director as needed.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, arts administration, or communications). Relevant coursework or prior experience in fundraising is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in development or membership position in nonprofit setting
- Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of art and culture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to tailor messages and styles to different audiences.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using donor databases and fundraising software. Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) is a plus.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information effectively.
- Basic understanding of fundraising techniques and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with design software is desirable.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining donor confidentiality.
- Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
This is a regular full-time, non-exempt in person position. This position requires working from the San Francisco Chinatown office. Salary for this position is $52,000-$68,000 depending on experience.

Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
As a strong ambassador of our mission, the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator recruits new volunteer tutors and inspires community members to get involved with 826 Valencia. The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator plans, schedules, and attends recruitment events to raise awareness of our programs and their impact, gets potential volunteers excited to work with students, and co-facilitates all training and orientation events for new volunteers so they are well-equipped to be excellent tutors and role models. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator reports to the Director of Volunteer Engagement.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
**Monitor the volunteer application system and respond to general email inquiries daily; coordinate the volunteer placement system with monthly outreach and follow-up phone calls to place volunteers into programs
**Source content and write the biweekly digital Volunteer Newsletter to the volunteer community, featuring highest need shifts and upcoming 826 Valencia events; amplify the voices of 826 Valencia students in communications
**Establish and expand the 826 Valencia volunteer pool by creating print collateral and tabling at outreach events
**Implement specialized recruitment campaigns to attract volunteers for specific programs where bilingual skills are beneficial or affinity-based tutor placement is required
**Coordinate and host volunteer engagement events, both in-person and virtual
Volunteer Training
**Coordinate and schedule all General Volunteer Orientations, update and track attendance
**Update content slides and co-facilitate orientations with the Volunteer Engagement Team
**Support youth volunteer training and placement into programs
Data Analysis & Systems
**Support input and tracking of data related to volunteers using Salesforce; keep data secure and maintain confidentiality for Department of Justice, TB and other confidential records
**Maintain and enhance systems for analyzing data from volunteer surveys, especially related to demographics and feedback on cultural competence training
Other Responsibilities
**Participate in staff and departmental meetings, internal committees on diversity, equity and inclusion, the annual 826 National conference, anti-racism trainings, other professional development activities, and performance appraisal systems
**Proactively raise issues with the Supervisor to prioritize tasks and implement solution; meet all deadlines and maintain accurate timesheets
**Support programs as needed in order to gain a broad and deep understanding of our work; all non-programs staff are expected to tutor with at least one program per week (approx. 2-4 hours)
**All other duties assigned by the Executive Director and Supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
**High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred)
**Prior work or volunteer experience with outreach, volunteers or non-profit organizations
**Facility with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Zoom
**Experience using Salesforce for data entry (preferred)
**Any fluency level in spoken and/or written Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Tagalog, and/or Vietnamese (preferred)
**Able to complete a background check and tuberculosis screening. OTHER DETAILS
This non-exempt, salaried, full-time role (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) is based at the Mission Center, 826 Valencia St., San Francisco, an open-office environment where there may be substantial ambient noise and overheard conversations. The schedule is subject to change based on programmatic needs, and working some evenings and weekends may be required. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, as this role requires substantial time at various 826 Writing Centers and other locations in San Francisco.
COMPENSATION
**$50,000 to $55,000 Annual Salary

CALL FOR ARTISTS: INTRODUCTIONS 2023
Root Division invites artists working in all genres to submit work for Introductions 2023, the 17th iteration of our annual juried exhibition.
The Introductions exhibition showcases the talent of twelve emerging artists, highlighting artists without gallery representation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Three prominent arts professionals select the artists based on the conceptual and formal strength of their work. The resulting exhibition will feature a diverse range of subject matter and media, including but not limited to video, installation, sculpture, photography and painting.
This presentation is one of the keystones of Root Division’s gallery program, offering artists exposure to the art community and beyond through an exhibition, reception, and a print publication
