Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the fourth “Landscapes” online art contest for the month of June 2023. Open to all artists worldwide over 18 years of age. Seeking any art with interpretation of natural elements such as mountains, hills, valleys, deserts, forests, farmland, trees, rivers, lakes, polar regions, rainforests, islands and tropical landscapes. All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. Best of Show, first, second and third place will be largely displayed with an article about the artist and their work. Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
As a strong ambassador of our mission, the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator recruits new volunteer tutors and inspires community members to get involved with 826 Valencia. The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator plans, schedules, and attends recruitment events to raise awareness of our programs and their impact, gets potential volunteers excited to work with students, and co-facilitates all training and orientation events for new volunteers so they are well-equipped to be excellent tutors and role models. The ideal candidate is energized by working with people of all backgrounds, is detail-oriented and adept at data tracking and analysis, and is passionate about developing systems that will enhance our recruitment and retention approach. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator reports to the Director of Volunteer Engagement.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
**Monitor the volunteer application system and respond to general email inquiries daily; coordinate the volunteer placement system with monthly outreach and follow-up phone calls to place volunteers into programs
**Source content and write the biweekly digital Volunteer Newsletter to the volunteer community, featuring highest need shifts and upcoming 826 Valencia events; amplify the voices of 826 Valencia students in communications
**Establish and expand the 826 Valencia volunteer pool by creating print collateral and tabling at outreach events
**Implement specialized recruitment campaigns to attract volunteers for specific programs where bilingual skills are beneficial or affinity-based tutor placement is required
**Coordinate and host volunteer engagement events, both in-person and virtual
Volunteer Training
**Coordinate and schedule all General Volunteer Orientations, update and track attendance
**Update content slides and co-facilitate orientations with the Volunteer Engagement Team
**Support youth volunteer training and placement into programs
Data Analysis & Systems
**Support input and tracking of data related to volunteers using Salesforce; keep data secure and maintain confidentiality for Department of Justice, TB and other confidential records
**Maintain and enhance systems for analyzing data from volunteer surveys, especially related to demographics and feedback on cultural competence training
Other Responsibilities
**Participate in staff and departmental meetings, internal committees on diversity, equity and inclusion, the annual 826 National conference, anti-racism trainings, other professional development activities, and performance appraisal systems
**Proactively raise issues with the Supervisor to prioritize tasks and implement solution; meet all deadlines and maintain accurate timesheets
**Support programs as needed in order to gain a broad and deep understanding of our work; all non-programs staff are expected to tutor with at least one program per week (approx. 2-4 hours)
**All other duties assigned by the Executive Director and Supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
**High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred)
**Prior work or volunteer experience with outreach, volunteers or non-profit organizations
**Facility with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Zoom
**Experience using Salesforce for data entry (preferred)
**Any fluency level in spoken and/or written Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Tagalog, and/or Vietnamese (preferred)
**Able to complete a background check and tuberculosis screening. The schedule is subject to change based on programmatic needs, and working some evenings and weekends may be required. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, as this role requires substantial time at various 826 Writing Centers and other locations in San Francisco.

CALL FOR ARTISTS: INTRODUCTIONS 2023
Root Division invites artists working in all genres to submit work for Introductions 2023, the 17th iteration of our annual juried exhibition.
The Introductions exhibition showcases the talent of twelve emerging artists, highlighting artists without gallery representation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Three prominent arts professionals select the artists based on the conceptual and formal strength of their work. The resulting exhibition will feature a diverse range of subject matter and media, including but not limited to video, installation, sculpture, photography and painting.
This presentation is one of the keystones of Root Division’s gallery program, offering artists exposure to the art community and beyond through an exhibition, reception, and a print publication

Communications Coordinator
The Communications Coordinator helps amplify the voices of our students, conveys our imaginative brand, and elevates the work of 826 Valencia through our newsletters, website, social media, community partnerships, and other external communications. The ideal candidate loves to come up with clever ways to promote our work and grow our audience. We are looking for someone who is a strong writer and communicator who can create messages in the 826 voice that effectively engage various stakeholders (students, families, teachers, donors, and volunteers). The Communications Coordinator is a member of 826 Valencia’s Advancement Team, which is responsible for communications and fundraising.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications
- Coordinate all aspects of social media planning and implementation (mainly Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook), including content development, scheduling, community management, and data analysis; collaborate with staff to source content and populate a content calendar
- Implement systems and structures to regularly update website and social content for current, clear, engaging, compelling information which is easy for stakeholders to navigate
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to create and publish content for 826 Valencia’s newsletters, social media platforms, print collateral, and other external and internal communications; write in the whimsical, wonderful, and weird 826 Valencia voice
- Coordinate newsletter content in collaboration with staff in other departments (eg. Volunteer and Programs teams), edit all 826 Valencia newsletters and serve as the primary author of the Monthly Newsletter and Staff Newsletter; track success of newsletters
- Maintain data tracking systems to inform strategic decision-making; help set team goals and track metrics via Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and social media analytics platforms
- Advance the goal of amplifying our students’ voices by supporting book and podcast promotion and distribution, as well as special publishing opportunities through community partnerships
- Support Communications Manager with time-sensitive media requests
Other Responsibilities
- Actively participate in 826 Valencia meetings, internal committees on diversity, equity and inclusion, performance appraisal systems, and other work events, such as anti-racism trainings, professional development workshops, and the annual 826 National conference

Tufts University (https://www.tufts.edu/) seeks a creative, thoughtful, interdisciplinary, and systems-minded administrator who will provide strategic leadership as the Director, Fine Arts Studios (DFAS) for the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (https://smfa.tufts.edu/). Reporting to the Educational Technology & Learning Spaces Director within the central Tufts Technology Services (TTS) organization, the DFAS will lead and support the distinctive studio arts that provide spaces for artistic discovery across https://smfa.tufts.edu/undergraduate/areas-study. With a broad understanding of studio art practice, the DFAS leads a team of 15 highly dedicated and talented studio managers and coordinates the operations of the 21 fine arts studios located in Boston and Medford. This entrepreneurial and creative leader is responsible for the strategic planning and oversight of the operations for about 21 fine arts studios and labs affiliated with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University (SMFA). With an emphasis on collaboration and partnership, the director is a key partner and subject matter expert with faculty, academic, and administrative leadership in all matters of studio strategic resource planning and operational effectiveness. The Director ensures studios are appropriately and equitably equipped, managed, and aligned with the educational and creative goals of the school. The Director is driven by the ability to support the success of students and faculty, and this position ensures the studio team consistently provides services of the highest caliber.
The successful candidate is a curious and creatively minded leader with a solid understanding of fine arts education and a record of collaborative leadership from which they will draw upon to build processes and systems within an academic studio arts environment. They will have exceptional project management, financial planning, process development, customer service, and communication skills. Root Division invites artists working in all media to submit work for ME in a(ME)rica, to be presented at Root Division in July 2023.
ME in a(ME)rica is a call to center migrant voices that have been pushed to the margins within the narrative of the United States of America. Artists are invited to reflect on the construction of culture, the places they inhabit, and how to reimagine belonging and exclusion in a critique of the so-called “American Dream.”
ME in a(ME)rica is an exploration of the cultural myths and truths of collective and individual migration journeys. The exhibition aims to deconstruct the oversimplified categories and labels imposed upon those who make such journeys, creating radical new narratives that center empowerment.
ME in a(ME)rica is curated by WEDAPEPO, a collective of conceptual, interdisciplinary, transnational artists, who seek a more inclusive definition of “America” and believe in art as a space for social change. Confirmed artists include shiloh burton, Irene Carvajal, Oscar López, Nivedita Madigubba, Michael Martínez, and Jusun Jessie Seo.
