Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, the YOUTH ORCHESTRAS OF FRESNO will augment and strengthen their Access Violin Program, a free after-school music-immersion program that has been training and supporting underserved students in the Central Valley since 2011. Individual participants will benefit from up to 300 hours per year of free instrumental and orchestral instruction, as well as being offered numerous performance opportunities.

Organization Summary

We are a youth music organization running two distinct but symbiotically connected programs: our youth orchestras themselves (260 participants in three orchestral ensembles rehearsing weekly and producing a minimum of four concerts per season); our FOOSA Summer Music Academy (a two-week immersive program featuring internationally acclaimed faculty from some of the best music schools in the world and offering a tour to Los Angeles to perform at Disney Hall)
