With support from the California Arts Council, the WOMENS HISTORY RECLAMATION PROJECT, INC will implement our 2022-2023 schedule of Museum programs, including in-person and digital exhibits, virtual educational programs and annual events. Funds will defray overhead costs associated with delivery of these programs.
The Women’s Museum of California presents engaging, family-friendly exhibitions and education programs that tell the stories of phenomenal women in our region – past and present. Our core programs include revolving gallery exhibitions; participatory in-person and virtual field trips; Girl Scout badge activities; live virtual tours and guided walks; internships for high school and college students, and panel discussions on topics related to women’s issues. The Museum connects with community groups seeking to deepen their appreciation of women’s history through our Speakers Bureau of scholars and historians as well as online video podcasts and events, including our Emmy Award-winning series Trailblazing Women. Annual events include the San Diego County Women’s Hall of Fame, San Diego Women’s Film Festival and Women’s Equality Day Celebration. The Museum’s collection includes more than 20,000 artifacts and rare books that document the lives and accomplishments of California women. The archive and library, located at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park, is free and open to the public for research.
