Project Description

Welcoming Musical Self-Expression from All Hearts, Minds, and Voices: The mission of West Coast Songwriters Association is to foster creativity, build community and provide opportunity for music career development through education and connection. Vision: During the past decade or so, enormous change has occurred both in the role of music education in schools and across all levels of the music industry. Looking forward, West Coast Songwriters Association is working to build upon its 40 year history of work and impact to prevail in the new world order of the music industry as a pre-eminent career development organization for singer-songwriters and musicians in the digital age and beyond. We commit to pursuing deliberate efforts in our programming, partnerships, recruitment and support of new members, industry professionals as advisors, speakers, and mentors; pricing, physical venues, fundraising, and employment, to ensure that our songwriters association and related networks are places (in person and virtual) where differences are welcomed, different perspectives are encouraged and where every individual feels a sense of belonging and inclusion.
