With support from the California Arts Council, Vista Academy Foundation will welcome the talents of Tierra Caliente Academy of Art’s Ballet Folklorico in an after-school conservatory to the upper grades at Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. Based on a successful pilot program launched last year, monies requested will supply an adequate instructional, costume, and materials base, ensuring future program growth.
The Vista Academy Foundation is a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) founded in 1993 at Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. The structure of the foundation falls under these three categories. Vista Academy Foundation’s Intellectual Committee organizes and funds programs such as Reading Olympics, field trips for International Baccalaureate (IB) units of study, scholarships for teacher projects and teacher support, and support for IB learner profiles. The Artistic Committee organizes and funds art enriching programs for students such as Fall and Spring After-School Conservatories, art-enrichment field trips, grade-level performances, and grade level visual art shows at the school’s on-site gallery. The Social Committee fosters student, family and community relationships by organizing and funding Family Fun Nights, school assemblies, merchandise for the Vista Academy Student Store, Staff Appreciation, Safety Patrol, and Red Ribbon Week programs.
