With the support from the California Arts Council, Las Maestras Center for Xicana[x] Indigenous Thought, Art and Social Practice will produce an Artist Residency with Sacramento based, San Francisco born and raised writer Cathy Arrellano. This residency will be in partnership with La Casa de la Raza and will include free community writing workshops. The residency takes place July through October 2020.
At the forefront of Scholarship in the Humanities and Fine Arts: From the English Broadside Ballad Archive to the Center for the Study of Work, Labor and Democracy, UC Santa Barbara is home to 24 dedicated research centers and academic initiatives, as well as four performance programs in theater and dance and 25 musical groups, ensembles and choirs.
