With support from the California Arts Council, University of California Arts Council will be able to bring The Odyssey Project (TOP) to the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility (VYCF). The Odyssey Project is a theater arts leadership program that has been designed for incarcerated youth. In this project Homer’s Odyssey provides a template for youth to re-imagine their lives through a heroic lens. A number of theater arts modalities are leveraged to support the youth on their creative journeys.
At the forefront of Scholarship in the Humanities and Fine Arts: From the English Broadside Ballad Archive to the Center for the Study of Work, Labor and Democracy, UC Santa Barbara is home to 24 dedicated research centers and academic initiatives, as well as four performance programs in theater and dance and 25 musical groups, ensembles and choirs.
