Project Description

With support from the California Arts Council, UNITED STAGES will support the development of the BLAKSTAGEcollective, the first Aboriginal Australian Ensemble in the USA. Based in Los Angeles, the Ensemble will align cross-artform, cross-cultural and intersectional work, authoring the development of new First Nations Australian public outcomes whilst building links to culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Los Angeles.

Organization Summary

United Stages is focussed on the;
· Importing and exporting productions around the globe.
· Creating a permanent and traveling home for artists, writers and directors.
· The creation and development of new works.
· Sharing the knowledge of the world’s top performing arts practitioners to develop the next generation. · Bringing new ideas and talent beyond the traditional performing arts modalities.
· Global school theatre education programs.
· Doing something unique, with different voices, to capture new and diverse audiences.
• Mutual symbiotic engagements to take the arts to the community and the community to the arts.
• Adding value to the Los Angeles story through the presentation, creation and development of diverse and transformative outcomes.
