With support from the California Arts Council, THEATRE AMERICANA OF ALTADENA INC will be able to pay for performance and rehearsal space, allowing for future productions of accessible theater projects for adults and children, as part of our outreach program to build vibrant communities through the performing arts.
Steeped in the rich culture of the San Gabriel Valley, Theatre Americana continues the 85+ year legacy by combining old traditions with new ones. We continue to uphold the tradition of producing original plays by American playwrights. In addition, we have implemented writing and acting workshops, and continue to explore new opportunities to help others grow both personally and artistically. We have reached out and collaborated with organizations to help bring the arts to audiences of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds and raise social awareness on issues that affect the safety and well-being of our communities. Our history plays an important part in contributing to the culture and richness of our community. Honoring the dreams and hard work of our predecessors, we bring energy and innovative ideas to make Theatre Americana what it is today. Theatre Americana offers mentoring in theater protocol and stage performance, supports artistic growth and provides writing and acting workshops that are affordable to the participants. In addition, Theatre Americana provides artistic opportunities for its members and encourages volunteerism. Our programs are diversified and help the communities we serve find opportunities for people to come together in creation and celebration of culture.
