With support from the California Arts Council, the Redwood Arts Council will continue to present a full season of classical music by small ensembles in western Sonoma County. For 42 years Redwood Arts has hosted world class musicians playing music ranging from Baroque to modern folk.
Redwood Arts provides 8 to 9 concerts a year in small venues with excellent acoustics. Currently, we split our season between the Occidental Center for the Arts, the Community Church of Sebastopol and the Church of the Roses in Santa Rosa. This provides three easy to reach venues with excellent acoustics that provide handicap parking, and easy access for walkers and wheelchairs. Ticket prices ($35-40) are held to a minimum through donations and grants that underwrite half of the organization’s cost. Students are provided special rates of $10 and children with parents are admitted free. Activities in schools include assemblies for elementary and middle schools to introduce classical instruments and music to the students, and ‘master class’ tutoring of music students in schools that have bands or music ensembles.
