Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, THE P G K PROJECT INC will continue our community work in SouthEast San Diego leading free dance classes and free performances at libraries and creative place making sites in this region for the residents of this historically low-income largely African-American, Hispanic/Latino, English and Spanish-speaking neighborhood to help strengthen participants’ access to the arts, community connectedness, joy, overall well-being and neighborhood pride.
Organization Summary
The PGK Dance Project, professional contemporary repertory company performing works by a wide variety of diverse choreographers year round. Produces Dance on the EDGE annually presenting up to 25 professional, semi-professional companies of diverse styles for free inside of Mission Federal Credit Union’s ARTWALK. Extensive public engagement with dance outreach, classes, workshops in community spaces including but not limited to: Libraries, community centers, alternative sites, parks.
