With support from the California Arts Council, TA YER will support CHAMBEANDO (WORKING) COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS & PERFORMANCES in Los Angeles. Program celebrates the creativity and the dignity of day laborers.
The name of our organization, TA’YER, is a phonetic enunciation of the Spanish word taller, which means “workshop.” As the name implies, we develop new theater pieces through a workshop process. We educate and support adult immigrant communities to find their own voice: use their own words or adapting short dramatic texts to develop literacy, a sense of aesthetics, creativity and curiosity for learning and exploring.
