Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, State Street Ballet will provide two interactive outreach performances of “The Jungle Book” for elementary school students of The Santa Barbara School District and Fresno County. State Street Ballet will make it possible for over 8600 students to experience this magical story told through dance. Other resources include a standards based study guide, sent out prior to the performance, and a follow up survey for attending educators.
Organization Summary
CORE PROGRAMS INCLUDE
Major Performances – creating new works for our home season
of dance in Santa Barbara.
Touring – bringing SSB productions and community outreach to
audiences throughout the US & abroad.
Community Collaboration and Integration – State Street Ballet is proud to work with
orchestras, music academies, theater companies, schools, and
other community organizations on a variety of projects each season.
Training Programs – for the next generation of dancers.
Annual Summer Intensive serves over 100 aspiring young dancers; Professional Track, a 32 week program tailor-made for pre-professional dancers between the ages of 18 and 22.
