Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, SELF-HELP GRAPHICS AND ARTS INC will support Self Help Graphics & Art production of a print portfolio with 6 – 8 veterans from within our 45-year long creative community. In addition to each artist creating a serigraph edition in SHG’s renowned printmaking studio, they will each lead public workshops which will target the veteran community and their families. Workshops will range from family-friendly to workshops for artists within the community.
Organization Summary
Self Help Graphics serves 30,000 community members and upwards of 100 artists annually through our programming. That includes:
-Our curatorial offerings: Our Exhibitions and Archive, the Professional Printmaking Program, the Barrio Mobile Art Studio, and the Beyond the Press Artist Residency program
– Free and low-cost arts education programming for youth, families and individuals
– Free community arts programs such as our Dia de los Muertos programming and Wellness Wednesdays
