With support from the California Arts Council, See The Elephant will adapt a folktale that addresses current issues children face today, and tour this theatrical performance to 12 local elementary and middles schools. See The Elephant will provide this high-quality theatre experience and complementary workshops and artist talk-backs to children whose access to arts is limited by rural living, economic barriers, and lack of arts in schools at no cost to schools or children’s families
See The Elephant began in the Fall of 2017. In the last few years we have put forward a bold set of programs to our local region. These programs are designed to address the lack of arts programming in our region, specifically for the performing arts.
Our Core Programs and Services include:
-Performing Arts Education
Partnerships with local schools, organizations, and families to provide arts education opportunities with an emphasis on arts exposure for children who have limited access, and professional training opportunities for young adults in the field.
-Arts Exposure
Creating high-quality performances and new works for the local community, and creating better access to performing arts experiences.
-Collaborations and Partnerships
Projects that seek to honor and amplify the partner’s mission and/or voice in the community through the vehicle of performing arts.
Detailed examples of our Projects to date can be found at SeeTheElephant.net
