The School of Visual Philosophy’s core programs include in person and online education in a multitude of fine art practices including but not limited to: painting, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, forging and professional development. We strive to treat artists as professionals and help them develop their skills in their media, entrepreneurship and storytelling. As part of our mission we provide classes and events for the community that are accessible to all, regardless of economic status, race, geographic location or educational background.
Our Internship Program provides our community with opportunities to work alongside master artists and learn in a hands-on skill-based environment.
Our Volunteer Program creates opportunities for our community members, whether interested in art or not, to help us pursue our mission and reach our goals toward furthering art education.
Our Instructor Residency Program brings professional artists into the school from all over the world to teach their skills to members of our Bay Area community and beyond.
Our services include community outreach to our immediate geographic location by means of advocacy, project implementation and events. We also provide an Online Atelier which includes interactive video courses designed to holistically instruct our students in fine art media.
The School is also a hub for our community’s residents, visitors and businesses to work together in creating a safe and equitable neighborhood outside downtown San Jose.
