With support from the California Arts Council, the Santa Paula Art Museum will sustain and expand programming within its Cole Creativity Center, which in addition to studio fine art classes for all ages, offers free arts education programs year-round to low-income and underserved youth and families, and free arts integration resources to local K-12 classrooms. Funds will be applied toward staff salaries, art supplies, utilities, and insurance.
Established in 2010, the Santa Paula Art Museum (SPAM) provides fine arts exhibition programming, including rotating, original exhibitions by local historic and contemporary artists, artist talks and demonstrations, and exhibit videos and publications; arts educational programming, including free exhibit tours and hands-on art lessons for local schools, dedicated exhibition space for student-created art, free monthly family days, and studio fine art classes for all ages; and outreach programming, including a nine-year partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley providing weekly art lessons at four local Boys & Girls Club sites.
