With support from the California Arts Council San Francisco Independent Film Festival will present a series of film festivals available to film fans state wide.
We program our film festivals to attract attendees from diverse ethnic, socio-economic, and philosophical backgrounds. Through these films, viewers have the opportunity to see through biased information masquerading as news and view the greater story that lies beneath. This deeper understanding of topics and points of view provide viewers with chances to engage with the world in a more educated, insightful, and compassionate way.
In addition to screening films, we also offer receptions and musical and theatrical productions/co-productions with other local groups, where filmmakers, film buffs, community organizations, media, and other artists can network, share knowledge, and gain inspiration. We are proud to say that in our 21-year history, SF IndieFest/SF DocFest has brought over 1000 filmmakers and 250,000 Bay Area residents out to more than 3000 movies and events in San Francisco, all taking place at locally-owned independent venues.
