Project Description
With support from the California Arts Council, SFEMS will aim to expand the diversity of the Bay Area’s early music community by expanding the financial sponsorship and professional services available to our affiliates. We will achieve this goal by creating a new staff position for communications, expanding our initiative to provide project grants to affiliate ensembles, and by sponsoring affordable and inclusive programming that reflects the demographics of the Bay Area.
Organization Summary
The Society emphasizes three areas of activity:
– Concerts and informal musical events
– Education programs that encourage the development of amateurs and professionals
– Communication, outreach, collaboration, and support services for the Bay Area early music community
