With support from the California Arts Council, San Francisco Choral Society will provide high quality choral educational opportunities and performances, including the world premiere of the new commission (To A Lost Year) by contemporary artist Ms. Chiayu Hsu, to the greater Bay Area community.
Our programs include:
• Year-round performances that offer audiences the opportunity to hear major choral works — both established classics and new works — with professional orchestras and soloists in front of live audiences.
• Low-cost music instruction classes and workshops for our singers.
• Tickets for Kids program that provides free tickets to junior high and high school students. Since it began in 2007 we have provided free tickets to over 800 youth.
• Student internship program for outstanding local high school and college students to participate with us in the rehearsal and performance experience.
• Festival of the Carols – an annual holiday event that offers special discounted ticket prices and includes a bazaar where local artisans sell their goods.
